Maritime archaeological services

We offer a range of underwater archaeological services. Over the years we have successfully cooperated with museums and governmental bodies in charge of protecting underwater cultural heritage in Estonia and abroad, wind farm developers and other businesses active in the Blue economy. We offer full-scale underwater archaeological surveys (from project management to excavations, sampling etc.), sonar (MBES and SSS) data analysis for Blue Economy development projects, documenting and evaluating the cultural heritage value of underwater finds, photo/video documentation and photogrammetry of wrecks. Besides the Baltic Sea, our work in photogrammetry and PPW assessment has taken us to Micronesia (Chuuk Lagoon), Solomon Islands (Iron Bottom Sound), Orkney Islands (Scapa Flow) and other places.

We have assessed the following potentially polluting wrecks:

  • Soviet submarine Sch-408 (depth 74m)
  • German torpedoboot T-18 (depth 96m)
  • Soviet destroyer Smelõi (depth 28m)
  • cargoship Ruhnu (depth 24m)
  • British light cruiser HMS Cassandra (depth 95m)
  • German minesweeper M-37 (depth 28m)
  • Soviet destroyer Surovõi (depth 84m)

Most of the reports are accessible through Estonian Ministry of Climate's website or in the archives of Estonian National Heritage board.
